On the Path to Healing: Ryan’s Story

Hi, I'm a Psychiatrist. I help people who need help with mental health. Love hearing music and watching movies.

When Ryan first came to us, he was in a place where he didn’t know where to turn. He was struggling with severe PTSD and anxiety, but he hadn’t yet received a clear diagnosis. “I wasn’t talking to anyone,” he shared. “I couldn’t go anywhere. I’d avoid social situations and even basic errands like going to the grocery store—it felt impossible.”

At the time, Ryan had been searching for help, but the options were limited. He found The Remedy through one of our referral partners. We were the first place that took him in, and from the moment he walked through our doors, something felt different. “I didn’t just feel like another patient,” he says. “It felt like people actually listened to me here. They weren’t just rushing to give me pills.”

Ryan started treatment with a combination of psychiatry, talk therapy, Spravato, and ketamine treatments. For the first time, he received a diagnosis—severe PTSD and anxiety—and began to understand what he had been going through for so long. “Getting that diagnosis made all the difference,” Ryan recalls. “I finally understood why I was feeling the way I was. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders just knowing what I was up against.”

The change since starting treatment has been dramatic. “When I first came in, I could barely talk to anyone. I didn’t want to leave the house, let alone go to social events. Now, I’m able to go to family events and actually enjoy them for more than an hour. I can socialize without feeling overwhelmed. I can even go to the store and not panic.” Ryan’s wife has been amazed by the transformation. “She’s seen me make a complete 180. She’s so happy with the progress I’ve made,” he says.

What stood out to Ryan about The Remedy was the genuine care and approach we take with each patient. “This place is different. They didn’t just treat me like another case number. They took the time to listen to me, understand me, and really help. It’s not just about medications—it’s about treating the person as a whole,” Ryan explains. “The Remedy feels like a family. There’s trust and support here that you don’t find everywhere.”

When asked what he’d say to someone who’s hesitant about seeking help, Ryan is firm in his response: “Just do it. There’s always help out there, and there’s always someone who will listen. You just have to give them the chance. I’m so thankful I did.”

Ryan’s journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been a life-changing one. “I thank God I found The Remedy. It completely changed my life, and I’m finally on the path to healing.”
