“It Wasn’t Just Treatment – It Was a Turning Point”: Louise’s Story

Hi, I'm a Psychiatrist. I help people who need help with mental health. Love hearing music and watching movies.

When she first came to The Remedy, Louise wasn’t new to mental health care—just worn out by it. After years of trying different therapies and medications with little relief, and following a recent hospitalization, she knew she needed a new approach. Her therapist recommended The Remedy, and she made the call.

She began treatment with a combination of ketamine and TMS therapy, unsure of what to expect but willing to try. “I was exhausted and desperate,” she later shared. “I knew I needed to do something to save my life.”

The change didn’t come overnight—but it came. Bit by bit, her thinking started to shift. “I didn’t realize how black-and-white my world had become until I started to feel color coming back in. My executive functioning improved. I could hold thoughts longer, feel more present, and even experience joy in the little things again.”

What stood out most was how different the process felt this time. Care at The Remedy wasn’t passive or pre-scripted—it was collaborative. “It wasn’t just something being done to me,” she explained. “It felt like a shared effort to find what would actually work for me.

Now, she describes herself as more flexible, more hopeful, more alive.

For anyone who’s struggling with treatment-resistant depression and feeling hesitant to try again, she offers this:

“One of the cruelest things about depression is how it convinces you that help won’t work. That trying again is pointless. But that’s the illness talking. The Remedy gave me hope when I had none—and that made all the difference.”
